Charity Martial Art Show For Great Ormond Street Hospital (C.L.A.P.A Clinic) and

the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC)

Renowned Kung Fu expert Master Andrew Sofos and his team of instructors and senior students at the S.A.S. Martial Arts Academy hosted two spectacular martial arts performances at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, Euston on Saturday 29th September 2007.

Over 80 young people were involved from the Connexions North London Partnership boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest. All of which participated in the matinee performance, entitled “Young Warriors in Zen Zone”.

Master Andrew and twenty five instructors performed in the evening show, entitled “TAO – The Way of the Warrior”, which was both breathtaking and comical. The shows included the impressive use of weapons, Shaolin techniques, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Wing Chun fighting, drama, music and dance.

Special thanks go to:
Goshin-Ju-Jitsu Association GB for their inspiring contribution.

Also thanks to the Mayors of Waltham Forest, Camden & Haringey and to Karen Buck MP, Regents Park & Kensington North for their attendance and support.

The shows collectively raised a substantial £6200 for both of the above charities, and special donations from Master Sofos were given to the Mayor’s Charities. Master Sofos stated “It was a fantastic journey of discovery and enlightenment for all. Young persons in all boroughs were elated to be involved in such a production. Some youths told me it was the biggest day of their lives. It is heartening knowing that my academy has had such a profound effect on these young persons.

May I thank all sponsors and persons involved in both productions.
